HISTORY.
Extra Innings is a locally grown, non-profit organization driven by a passion to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their cherished ones. As an approved 501(c)(3) entity, we ensure that every single dollar raised stays within our local community, fostering hope and support where it's needed the most.
Our roots trace back to Bowling Green, Ohio, where our visionary founder pioneered the concept of hosting annual softball marathons as a means to generate funds for Hospice and the American Cancer Society. It was a heartfelt mission to bring solace and resources to those battling this challenging illness.
Last year, we embarked on an inspiring journey to Wausau, Wisconsin, where we were determined to uphold our tradition of unwavering support for the cause. The inaugural Extra Innings event in Wausau, held in July 2022, was a resounding success, rallying the community and raising thousands of dollars.
This unforgettable occasion comprised a thrilling 12-hour softball game, accompanied by the electrifying tunes of a live band. But that's not all – our "Celebration of Life" extravaganza also featured captivating elements such as raffles, silent auctions, tantalizing food trucks, and an inflatable bounce house that filled the air with joy and laughter.
